warped tracks no longer warped
warped tracks no longer warped
hi all,
I did search for my problem but did not find an answer, hoping I can find help here.
I use Live to dj and have taken all my songs and warped them to my liking.
Originaly I warped them on my desk top but have now copied all my mp3s and their associated warp .asd files to my laptop so I can go on the road. However, the warp settings are not used on the laptop. I have all the .asd files in the same reletive location they were on my desktop but live seems to be ignoring them.
How do I "load" or "reassociate" the asd files back to the mp3s?

I would check if you have the same version of quicktime on both computers. There were problems with warp-settings getting lost on a different computer when there are different versions of quicktime. live apparently uses quicktime or similar programs to decode the mp3s.
(please someone correct me if that is wrong)

quicktime is the same
Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work.
The lap top didn't have quicktime installed so i installed it (both are the same now) and the problem persists...
Any other suggestions?

hi everyone
Since I don't want to open yet another topic on ignored .asd files let me continue zenboys post. I've took 1 MP3 file and dropped it into Live's Session view. Then I've warped that file, croped it and saved it. Then I deleted that same MP3 out of the session view and locate it in Ableton's search tab and clicked on "Show in Explorer" ----> there it is that same MP3 and .asd file but when I re-drop that same MP3 i've been workin' on it completely ignores .asd file! ANd this present a huge problem for me since I use Ableton for DJin'
What to do???
cheers Bux

Hey Buxxy,
I actually found the solution to my problem a long time ago but never bothered to post it here like i prolly should have...
Anyway, the problem fixed its self when I upgraded to version 5.2.2. I would suggest checking you are up to date with your version.
I am curious though.. you say you "warped that file, croped it and saved it." But did you save the session or the warp settings?
Once you warp a song you need to click the tiny "save" button in the sample setting panel in order to save the warp markers. This was a gotchya for me for a while. My warp setting were always getting lost till i figured that out.
Good luck
