Hi I would like to match your way of using Sampletank with mine, just to see if I can learn/share something.
At the moment I do the following:

1. Open a Project
2. Assign ST to a MIDI Track, name it VST
3. Load instruments in each track/channel inside ST
4. All outputs are on the 1+2 channel
5. As I add channels to ST (Piano, Drums, Bass, so on) I add MIDI Tracks to Live that points to ST Track.

Pls tell me what do you think.

I have actually been assigning new instances of my VSTs (whether SampleTank or Virtual Guitarist, etc) to each track. I don't use the multi-track feature of SampleTank. For me, it's just an easier workflow.

Thanks. It's cpu load the same?

Actually, I don't know. I have never tried using the multi-track of SampleTank, so I'm not sure about a difference in CPU load. With the way I do it now, I have not had an issue with CPU loads, though.

Thanks.
I'm trying to get rid of problems I got with SampleTank and to make IK Multimedia and Ableton to talk together. The SoundStation Bundle today offers SampleTank,Sonic Synth and Miroslav Philarmonic at a very discounted price, but I have doubt about the buy because of my current problems.
Can you describe the problems that happens to you when using SampleTank and Live? It would be nice to compare with mine.

The problems I had are posted above in this Thread. They are gone now after making some preferences changes per the instructions, also given earlier in this Thread.

No problem. It's easy to do around here with so many people posting!

do these changes to the preferences only apply to live 5.2.1? I tried making them to Live 5 without the upgrade, but to no avail as sampletank continued to crash. all I did was change the vst window setting. If I'm missing something, please help me out. Thanks
