Audio Damage Discord 2 - Problem in Live.

Hi,

Is anyone using Audio Damage Discord2.

I am having serious problems with the plug in spiking the cpu up to 750% (what's that about !!!) or there abouts, and then freezing Live.

I had to install Microsoft C++ runtime library, to get the plug in to be recognized, but his seems to be causing problems. It is also crashing Cubase when used as an audio insert.

I bought this based on the fact that it got a great write up in Computer Music (or Future Music) and that generally their plug ins – especially Dubstation – are excellent.

Anyway – was wondering if anyone is using this successfully.

Yes I am using it.
Never had any problems here with AD stuff...
I have not tested on a pc though sorry.

You should contact AD. They'll either know whats going on or fix it.
Not much help you can get around here for a plugin that just has been released.

Wildcon I just wanted to add,
I use cubase as well and had heard about a problem with discord 1 when used in a particular situation with cubase (I think either problems as a send effect or insert but cannot remember exactly)
Basically sounds like maybe this has not been reported with discord 1 and the bug has been included in the new version too.
Let me know if you need any help contacting AD and I will speak to them as well if you have not already reported it.

Thanks for the replies.

I have contacted AD and they helpfully sent me the Microsoft C++ runtime link for Microsoft.

However this doesn't seem to work (other than letting me see the plug in).

They said they were working on a new installer, so I guess I'll have to wait for that.

I love the AD plugs, but have to say that I'm pretty p'd off with the fact that Computer Music can give this such a great review when it obviously has problems (maybe not with a Mac).

Yet again I feel like a beta tester

Computer music did exactly the same when Live 5 came out.
AD are usually way quicker at fixing the problems though so hopefully you won't wait long.

I'm also having the same problem using Discord2.

Live crashes just when I change presets. I still trying to figure out because in some songs is ok. I just installed 2 days ago. But when crashes My CPU goes to 350 % and the system is tottaly locked up forcing me to cold boot.
If I start Live and use Discord on a single track it works fine.

I will try to reinstall Live to see it fixes.

I use Windows XP on a Pentium 4 3.4GHz, 3 GB memory.
