Reaktor automation works- but not editable through midi clip

Post by adam_harzuf » Thu Aug 31, 2006 8:54 am

Hello
After managing the controllers IDs in the ensemble, and I can see the names on Live's "device parameters" of the inserted Reaktor, I record to arrangement view and automate - works fine when I play back, manually or with my BCR2000.
However, automated controlls are usually stored in the midi clip but there's no sign for them - The automated controller seems untouched.

I tried to play with the midi options in Reaktor but maybe I missed something, or maybe I'm in the wrong direction?

Help, please
Thanks

Hi Adam,
arrangement automation (wich you can record in realtime) and clip automation (wich you only can draw with the mouse actually) is a different pair of shoes.
If you want your recorded automation in the clips envelopes, you need to cut and paste the automation from arrangement to clip envelopes.
Clip envelopes are relative values, meant for sounddesign, arrangement automation are absolute values, records the movement of your knobs while performing.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough - I record in arrangement view, and midi segments in this view are called "Midi clips" as well.
Either way, if the automation is working, it should show in the envelopes, but it doesn't, with Reaktor.
Other instruments are fine.

Thanks
