What is a hard core mac?
A mac is full of parts that are non-apple parts. Always has been that way...

Well yeah. Pc's still have a 90% market share. That number isn't that odd..

A computer is just a box that does a job.

PC... Mac... who cares? Whatever works for you.

I've always wondered. How do you guys milk a soybean?
They don't sell that over here (afaik), so i wouldn't know.
They only sell the beans and i've never found a nipple to milk.

One thing I will say about Apple, is that while their specs may be equal to or less than XP based system, Apple know how to make nice looking computers, with new physical features. They put a lot more effort into the design aspect. You don't see very many PC laptops with self-illuminating keys, less than 1" thick, slot load DVD/CD-RWs, glossy screens, innovative (or frustrating, depending on your experience) power connectors, etc.

So if you go by specs along, then yes, it's hard to justify the cost. But when you factor in the design (which doesn't matter at all to some people I realize), then it's a little easier to see why they cost so much.

Oh yeah, I'm a Windows user btw, though once the Meroms start shipping in MBP's, I plan on switching to see what all the OSX fuss is about.

Funny.... read last night that Eno used a Mac to design the Windows 95 startup sound.

Too cute!

I'm too lazy to look it up....

Is the Merom the same as Core 2 Duo? Or is Merom something even newer than that?
