What floats my boat about these behringers is the LED embedded in each button. I'd use it for showing track mute/unmute stauts or show me which scene was currently playing.

behringer breaks?
hey mosca-
are you serious about behringer parts breaking? can you speak a little about your experience because i'm really considering getting one of these bad boys...but if it'll break it isn't really worth it.
where else am i supposed to look for cool controllers for live?
how would i trigger start songs on a midi controller? in arranger view? on console view?

I've had a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI floor controller for almost 2 years. It's built like a tank, still works flawlessly was a quarter the price of what I paid for the Roland FC200 which is less programmable and whose *single* expression pedal died just after the garuantee ran out. I've also used a little Behringer 8:2 mixer for over 4 years on many occasions as a sub-mixer live, again built solidly and hasn't been a problem. Had two original Composers for 3 years as well, still working as well as the day I bought them.
The sonic quality of some behringer stuff can be questioned but not the build quality in my experience.

ditto,Behringer 1010, eurorack 4 channel mixer, headphone amp. all at least a year old, 1010 is 2 years old and after many dozens of gigs and its just fine. Really hard to beat behringer for the price, and I bet its as well built and sturdy (if not much more robust, from the looks of it) than evolution or m-audio stuff.

We had a Behringer 24-ch mixer that stood 3 years of serious dub-mixing/touring abuse. When we finally "upgraded" to the Mackie SR24 equivalent it was f*cked in 9 months.
Who can say what quality control is affected by? Depends where they get the parts for that particular model, how much attention the assembly-line worker was paying that day...etc etc
Though we were surprised to see the "budget" brand so seriously outperform the "classy budget" brand. Every company has its Edsel.....

Strange what you are saying... not that I don't believe but I had the opposite experience..
behringer 24 channels desk bought new after one year several mic preamps gone to hell + the master fader.
Sold it and bought a mackie 24.8 second hand with 1 year of life, and still rockin' after 5 years working.
