live with 2 laptops not synchron!
hi, we used ableton 2.3 for our technoliveact with 2 laptops (1 laptop with good soundcard [MAudio] the other wit a orginal laptopsoundcard) and evrything was synchron, but since we use ableton 3 it doesn´t work anymore, the beats are always displaced 2 or 3 beats.
i hope anybody can help us!

How are you connecting the two laptops?
How were you syncronising the laptops when you were using v2.3?
The only way I was aware you could link two laptops was via MIDI, and I assume a laptop without an external sound card is unlikely to have midi onboard. I hope you 're not just trying to push play, or change scenes at the same time visually!
Please post some more info and I might be able to help you out.

connecting...
hi, we sychronised it with my oxygen (midiout) and midisport 2x2. maby its not synchron any longer because the soundcard of my partners laptop ist bad and has a bad latency, but it worked before with the same equipment.
the laptops are fast enough (1,5 ghz)

How about letting a 1 or 2 bar count in , before starting to play out ...

...with the asio4all the 2 laptops are starting at the same time, and they are nearly synchron, but you can hear that it´s not "round". for example, the 2 kicks sometimes are exactly in time, the next kicks are some milliseconds apart... and so on...
we will try it with a better soundcard, so that we know that the card is the problem, but it worked before!!!! with version 2.0.3

How about the latency offset on the miditab under "preferences" ? Playing with that didn't help ? Btw, that's also the place where you can define the "count in" . Live will need a few ms time to get in sync , so it might be possible that those first wobbly ms are reason for your midi sync offset.

Live's midiclock output has a problem since ever it
is available...
I was thinking its related to my hardware , but it seems
other people have that too..
system: ibm thinkpad (a20m and t40p), rme hammerfall multiface
WinXp, Live 2.0.3
Problem:
Midi clock output from live is wobbling! The jitter-amount varies
with asio-buffer-settings..
->short buffer = little jitter
->long buffer = more jitter
only with VERY low latency (2ms) its halfway usable..
any words from ableton on this??
i tried everything (drivers...etc..)
Thanks

Similar problems have been reported but Ableton stated before that this might be because of several causes .
If I remember correctly they advised to send master clock over a dedicated connection between laptops. Have you tried this ... so no controller messages on that lead ...

yes, i tried this
nothing else but lives clock goes thru that midi out...
and i tried different midi ports too
(rme hammerfall midi, midiman midisport usb, ...)
and by searching the forum i found several other uses
reporting the exact same problem
there never were any comments from ableton
dont mean to sound harsh, ableton makes incredible software,
but this is VERY annyoing and a very important feature for me
please....
