Most PC's have black towers and those pose a problem if the tower is directly underneath your desk - as streaks of white show up better on black then they do

on the OLD G4 towers or even the newer Silver G5 towers <-- but the streaks are there none the less

Now if you have a mini, you're money - cause it's probably on top of your desk

But the sticky finger on the Laptop is a classic though

So if you're over zealous with pleasuring yourself go with a MAC as it wont show up as well

i always enjoy those Pc vs. Mac battles, i'll always remember my old friend's statement:
MACINTOSH - twice the price for half the power to run ten percent of the appz... this was not many years ago... right before the use of intel processors.
imoh macs are better for non-expert users, usually fashionists wannabe richs that want to run their 2 favourite applications clicking the coloured icons , and browse web porn without risking visuses :D for the rest it's almost the same on pc,
This gets my vote for the most retarded, idiotic, post i have read in a while on this forum that has to to do with apple and pcs.

Honestly, this place can go months without a Mac VS PC debate, unlike KVR where even mentioning Logic brings up Mac VS PC.

I'd rather talk about politics really, unless it's a factual breakdown of what the real differences are between macs and PCs, not personal opinion and experiences that aren't backed up by fact.

Or stuff like this!

Bah! Some of us care about computers. Computers are a hobby of mine. I like talking about them.

And you smell!
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

I have a serious Mac question:

I know someone with a PowerBook G4. When this person closes the screen on the PowerBook, the comptuer goes into a Suspend or Sleep mode. Sometimes, you don't want the computer to Sleep when you are moving it, however. When this is the case, this person closes the screen slightly... but not all the way, and then moves the laptop.

I have a PC laptop. On Windows, it is very simple to change a setting which controls what the computer does when the screen is closed.

Do Macs have this same setting? My assumption is no, but I just wasn't sure.

The reason I ask is this.... a few months ago I was sitting at a cafe which was located next to an Apple store. This guy would frequently walk out of the Apple store, holding a 17" PowerBook in one hand like a waiter carrying a service tray. The funny thing about this was, the screen was left wide open. So he was balancing this $3700 laptop computer in one hand with the screen open..... and he would run across the street into a different store. A couple of minutes later, he would run back.... laptop open, in one hand.

He did not drop the computer, but he did go back and forth a few times. I was just looking at this guy waiting for him to drop it.... so I could laugh.

Anyway.... I was wondering WHY someone would carry a laptop across the street in the open position like that. I only came up with 2 potential explanations.

1. He did not want the computer to Sleep.

2. He was making a conscious effort for people to notice he was carrying an Apple.

So..... is it possible to close the screen on a PowerBook without putting the computer into Sleep? Or was this guy just a poser?

It's a good computer for sure

but the whole Ipods and the commercials really turn a brother off - not to mention their tech / customer support <--> not the friendliest

but guess what?

cause I'm shallow like this...

I signed up for a new bank account yesterday just to get a free IPOD and I'm buying a MACBOOK at the end of the month

See, I basically live and exist on Capitol Hill - it's very important to look the part (I'm being serious) so when I go get coffee to do homework I can whip out the MacBook and look at people over the top of my glasses while sipping on a latte - then when I get up to leave I put my IPOD on and bolt my IPOD to my hip like a Weapon and power walk out the cafe <-- it's what people do on Capitol Hill...I'm not kidding either - So I'm going to do it myself

otherwise

I get a PC Laptop and use my Chocolate Cell phone as a MP3 player - like that's going ot get me some Hipster cootch
