recording crash

Post by pneuma » Mon Feb 09, 2004 10:04 am

hi,
I hope someone can help me!
When recordng audio on live, the computer crashes as soon as I press the stop button. This is really very annoying. I run it on Mac OS9.2.2, and have about 50 gigs HD space left. I just got the program and am waiting for support response...

has anyone experienced this and hopefully reolved it?

Hello,

Unfortunately i can not reproduce any render or record related crashes with OS 9 on my machine.
I suggest to proceed like this:
- Boot your Mac with the standard OS 9 extension settings
- Trash the Live "Preferences.cfg" file (/systemfolder/preferences/ableton)
- Record with the soundmanager.

Of course make sure that your harddrive has enough free space.
If this works, try to use your ASIO interface as input device.
If this works, start to use your old extensions setup.

Depending on which point you fail, it will help to track down the problem.

Best regards,
Ch. Kleine

hey,

i've also experienced similar crashes running live 3.0.2 on osx 10.3.2...i'll work in live for a while tben after saving i quit live form the menu bar. it halts for a couple seconds, thinks, and then closes but leaves me a message saying live has unexpectedly quite etc....this has no detrimental effect on my use of the program, but it is seriously annoying! this has happened since the first day i installed live on my brand new computer...one of many bugs associated with live...

i just posted a topic about this happening with supatrigga as a plug in. have never seen it happen otherwise, could it possibly be related to a vst in your folder?

(this is in response to the above poster, not the original post)
