It's been said that 6 is what 5 should've been plus some kick ass features like racks.
yeah I've read that, but IMO it's a bit short sighted - we get a full new version every year FFS, it's a bit like the want it all now short attention span generation expecting Abe could have gone from Live 4 to what Live 6 does in 1 year

I actually felt pretty damn content with Live 5 - alot more than Live 4 - there were alot of useful improvements -

the only time I agree with that statement is regarding deep freeze - freeze was totally useless in Live 5 and I would have liked to see deep freeze in a sub-release because in 6 it's what it should have been in 5.0
Wow, do I agree with this statement. I didn't use freeze at all in 5. Not once. It didn't really do what I wanted. But for some reason, it seems to work a lot better in 6. I think it has to do with the ctrl-drag nature of the resulting audio clips.

I think that PDC in Live 5 was indispensable for me. Couldn't really get along as well without it.

But 6 is the bomb. Trust me.

Why is this concept so difficult for people to understand? People post like ten times every beta.....

Guys, the beta circle was created when the very first beta was released. It is still just those who got in at that time back in late June. Which makes sense, as we can follow up on the bugs that we have reported as they are fixed with each beta.

With the next one, they will extend the beta circle; by how much is anyone's guess. You can get in then, so on or about Friday, I would be looking if I were you.

Cheers,
AB

Actually, it dawns on me that everyone who posts pissy comments about not being in the beta test and that it's (in your best whiney voice) "just not fair!!!" are automatically excluded from testing because, face it, you'd just make lousy testers.

A good tester is:
1) Intelligent
2) Logical
3) Reasonable
4) Organized
5) Patient
6) Clear headed
7) and for Live Beta testers, a little bit selfless.

And, by the way, I'm not one.

yeah I love those people who take a quick look at something and fully understand all there is to know about it and then by their own admission dont actually find the time to try any of it out. Those are definitely the people I want to quote.

OK, I changed my mind about Live 6. That other guy said Sonar 6 is better, so I'm going to wait on Live 6 and go with Sonar.

Nuff said.

No! Wait! I'm serious! Really!!!

I hear Sonar 6 really rocks, especially on a Mac.

Opia-

I didn't pick up on the fact you were being ironic. That's easily misunderstood by email because you lose all the nonverbal communication. Sorry. I thought you were actually being loony enough to make the argument that by not opening up the beta to everyone, that Ableton was loosing valuable public support and interest. Then I made a ironic comment that was not really appropriate.

Usually I avoid all of these flammable threads, but I just felt like it for some reason. Now I remember why I avoid them.
