i know its done in MAX/MSp but i have only just bought ableton so dont have the cash to buy it!!

Just some kind of buffer vst.

any ideas??

Yes, Beat Repeat is brilliant... so simple to look at and use but it's amazing the array of sounds you can get.

Don't bother reinventing the wheel (ie. hours of Max or Reaktor work) when the plug is already there!

I use it for over-the-top things like that or more often for very subtle variation/weirdness in things like drums etc.

beat repeat is probably the best option for it.
don't know why i didn't think of that to start off with!
does anyone use max/msp?
really intrested in it looks quite a steep learning curve though.

yeh your right that did sound pretty bad.

i thought i was after something pretty random like livecut but then i feel like i'm cheating a bit so i made a full u-turn back to just automating beat repeat to get it just right.

not that that is justifying it! only just bought live so your right i do need my practice.

download glitch from there. you can sequence it or randomise it and it's a bit more capable than just chopping.
