MIDI accreditation costs extra.

I have a degree in creative writing. The degree never really helped me at all until this year. The company I work for needed another person to write product product descriptions for the pro audio catalog. I was the first person they asked because they pulled up our resumes and they saw my degree. Do creative writing classes make you a better writer? Yes, they do. Can you be a brilliant writer without ever setting foot in a writing class, yes, you can.

My only argument is that having concrete crap to throw on your resume is a good thing. Midi be damned.

You see! I told you Live was getting too complicated. Now we gotta go to cool school and buy DVD tutors and all that stuff. Soon we'll gotta get certified to upgrade too. I don't want Live to turn into an elitist sieve like Logic did.

Where I come from we have a "music industry & production" school run by the council, they offer Btec and short courses. They're not particulartly good courses, and would no way "get you into" the industry.

What they do though is offer that choice to young people: shall I get an ASBO or do something that I might enjoy which may spark a talent in me if it's there.

The "accredited" part is just a sales tag really saying, "yes, the manufacturer think this course content is good".

I'm involved in teaching Journalism and we are accredited by NCTJ and BJTC, it doesn't make the courses any better, just more attractive to prospective students. Oh, and more than half the students don't even go into Journalism!

nice phrase. Sounds like a literary magazine: The Elitist Sieve.

I've been teaching live for over two years, I wouldn't mind attaching the word "accredited" to this teaching. Words rule (literally).
