Basically... a stripped-down Jazzeditor. Labelled faders, buttons, switches, possibly LEDs that can be dragged into any configuration, with the ability to select one of many layouts from the touchscreen. I'm not bothered about feedback, OSC, or bouncing-mutant-clusterfuck-antigravity spheres. One-way MIDI is all I'm looking for. The individual layouts must be user-configurable.

Example

I'd buy a cheap PC and touchscreen dedicated to MIDI control only.

If your buttons, faders, etc look a bit more different than those from Jazzmutant, you'd have no problem. Yours is just a software MIDI controller then.

I'd prefer to see minimal Ableton-style buttons, faders, etc anyway. Simple. Drag 'n drop construction kit, set MIDI CC numbers, ranges, etc.

I haven't seen them close-up like that. They are different.

I'd still prefer minimal single-color squares as buttons and switches, and rectangles for faders, rather than the false glowy-reflecty-pretend-I'm-a-light/LCD/LED kid's video game effect.

well mr , you can see are differents, on the pictures inshowed on my page can be very idnenticalsm but that pictures are taked from some wide angles, LCD cant show the detail of buttons, add the distrotion created from touchscreen add the flu effect created over camera when take picture to screen with high level coulors and you say...........yea buttons are clone and sliders too..... lol

That happen exactly on the videos and pictures from lemur........ some facotrs make some things can be very idnetical when are difrerents.

If i make more minimaltic buttons, without glow etc etc, that start be more indetical to lemur, for tha reason this are buttons used from now.

And buttons and slider are very diferent like you see and say !
Aditional to that any capacitive, or resistive touchscreen add a little distrotion to lcd image, and make some things are showed very very identical when are diferent.

I exaplin this a lot of time here but nobody want understand !!

I work now on buttons super cool, minimalsitic, and very orignal, i cla that alobuttons , i try have some finished today, for show to the cmunity.

Now you and others can see picture and can understand ! : )

Quick example:

A bit too Fisher-Price colorful, but you get the idea. And with software buttons along the top or side for instant switching between layouts.

"Ah, I see you have the machine that goes 'ping'". ;)

I'm not really interested in the politics of all this (i.e. whether or not it's a Lemur copy). After all, I don't imagine that those who are complaining here complain every time someone make a cheap copy of a Strat or Les Paul...

But I am interested in what Grobe's doing. I don't think tis the right solution for me now, but I look forward to multitouch v6.

One question though - the answer to which may be obvious to any one who has actually used Live with a touch screen (or tablet)...

If I plugged a touch screen into my laptop, why wouldn't I just run Live on that screen? Why would I need monotouch? If I just run Live on that screen, surely I would have a more flexible layout, could immediately see what everything does, and could do stuff like drag and drop clips into slots - which I assume you can't do with monotouch? What has monotouch got over running Live on a touch screen (or tablet)?

Interestingly, monotouch has just made me want a Lemur even more!

Hey Hambone, would you pay to have that interface made for you?

Yep... and access to some venture capital, too... (rusty cogs in Hambone's aging brain squeakily turning...)
