Right, i have Ableton Live Lite 4 with a special upgrade offer voucher (with serial). If i was to purchase an upgrade from the Ableton website, say Live 5 (full version for instance) would i need to have Live Lite 4 actually installed? or can i just knock in my serial number and i can download it? This question doesn't apply to the boxed version obviously.
I would really appreaciate a speedy response. Thanks in advance...

Live Lite 4 don't must be installed. After payment witch need the Live Lite 4 Serial Number you became a new Serial Number. With this Number you be able to set free
Live 5. This could be the DemoVersion witch you can download.

So does that basically mean you can get Live 6 (download) for the price of upgrading to Live 4 at no extra cost? Apparently you can have Live 6 for free if you purchase 5.
Can't you just go from Live Lite 4 serial to Full Live 5 without having to mess about?

In your particular case, you can get Live 6 (download version, when it comes out) for the price of upgrading from Live Lite 4 to Live 5.
I'm pretty sure you don't need to install Live 4, you'll just need that Live Lite 4 serial.
