static noise from vintage roland..how can u get rid of it??

Post by sujin » Wed Sep 13, 2006 10:59 am

hello
my old vintage roland is making strange noises, how to describe it.. it stops and starts but basically, it sounds like dusty+glitch+static kinda noise.
this expert guy told me to leave it on for a while to warm up, but it hasn't been cured yet. sitting down for ages.
any tips (beside going all the way to the repair shop)??
should i just open it up and just clean out the dust? after all..it's so old.
thanks-

Have you tried different audio cables as maybe there is a break in them , also try cleaning the contacts of the audio outputs.
