...You know, I've been using each beta update for about an hour a day (more on weekends) and I've only found two things wrong back in version B5 & B6. I must not be doing this right, because I am finding that everything seems to work.

Am I not pushing this software hard enough?

Should I be trying to replicate bugs that other users report? I mean, this is my first beta test, and I'm concerned that I'm not contributing much useful input.

I feel the exact same way - I have found very few reproducible "unique" things. I think it's a good thing ;)

Made it crash twice to the desktop using the crop sample. I sent a report but it's been delayed by hotmail. It works good though. THe racks are simply amazing.

I found some problems importing NI Kontakt2 patches. But I'd guess that's because of some copy protection system NI is using with its .nki format? Sometimes Live 6b13 gives me an error message "this can not be imported due to copy protection", sometimes Live just crashes and sometimes it can import the nki file just fine. Strange....

Hello,

Indeed, the protected Kontakt files can't be imported in Live, due to licensing problems. But it should not crash. Please report all crashes in the beta forum, and if you can reproduce them, restart Live, reproduce the crash, and on the next start you'll get a rather small crash report, send it to beta@ableton.com with a reference to the thread.

Kind regards,
Amaury

How does that work? (I've noticed some posters getting impatient about this question, but I'm still in the dark so...) How did Abe pick the initial Beta circle, and when they extend the Beta circle, how do they select the users? Is it random, is there a place online to apply?

Here.....

To get the beta... you either need to be lucky. Or have no life, so that you can refresh the browser every 5 seconds.

If you want a chance of getting in the next round, you need to be here night and day....

Though i wouldn't bother. The release candidate should come along soon. You'll be running the live 6 demo or beta in no time...
