If you are asking me for a prediction, here it is:

Democrats take a narrow lead in the House. But GOP holds control of the Senate.

So.... end of the day, everything sits at an impasse.

You can't possibly think the poll results on this message board are representative of what would happen in a real election. Music boards are notoriously filled with liberal douchebags.

why liberals want to take jobs away from underprivileged minorities and immigrants (by raising the minimum wage) is beyond me
Me too! I just read in the New York Times that the Democratic Party is going to adopt "Take Jobs Away From Minorities" as its 2008 campaign slogan. It's crazy!

But I guess that makes me a minority on this board.
No, it displays that you don't understand what a democracy is. FYI democracy is not an economic system, it's a system of electing politicians etc.
Socialism is a description of an economic system, like capitalism, fascism, and communism.
As it stands, to a certain degree almost every western country is a combination of capitalism and socialism.

It's doublespeak to say that you would rather have a democracy than a socialism. What would be more appropriate would be to say you would rather have a more capitalist system than a more socialist.
It's also doublespeak to say that you would rather have more freedom, therefore you like capitalist america etc. the more socialist leaning netherlands prove where the real standard of personal freedom can be found.

I have not read through this because I am tired, but I have to ask, why didn't you include the option "I'd like to see a new party".

I'm not happy with the Dems. I've recently come to the conclusion that when it comes to their world view they are pretty much the same as the republicans.

Different sides of the same card they are.

We need some new parties to take control in America.

But I am sure all of this has been covered in this thread already.

Good night.

I agree completely. My pitch is to simply address the congressional elections in november and to deal with the immediate bush majority freedoms.

I would have included a new party choice for the poll, but it is beyond the scope and would distract from the task of consolidating votes away from the current majority.
I have no love for the democrats, though each party, including others, have some politicians that I have a little bit of faith in.

If it were possible to fix our political system before november, I would be right there, but until then, lets fuck bush up with what we have right now. We have a promising chance.

I'm not for any political party, I'm just enthusiastically against the current one. Since the dems can take the best shot, I'm with them today.
