read the manual.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

The Axiom is cheap, but it's amazing that you've bought a piece of hardware not realizing that it doesn't make any sound. Apart from the shy clicks you get when you press the keys...

Seriously, though. If you hook it to a midi track in Live (for example) and drag a VSTi or Live instrument to that track. Then you could have the sound come from either your lappy speakers or monitors (provided that they're connected to your line out).

Good luck,
Mikael

ps. Might also be that you're totally pulling my leg in which case I'm deeply embarrassed that I've gone into such detail.

Or rather, try Live's built-in instruments. It's all well described in the manual.

Ouch, I remember the learning process. It is very steep if you haven't ever done any computer music stuff.

Read every manual. Twice, if not more. It will start to make sense, but there really isn't any short way around if you aren't experienced.

And don't forget to ask questions when you have exhausted yourself on the manuals, internet, and are about to throw your computer out the window!!

That would be a shame.
