Best way to compose tracks in Arrang view.

Post by vfire » Tue Sep 19, 2006 12:50 am

I am a bit new to Ableton,

Im looking for an easy way to draw the clips into the arrangement veiw. There doesn't seem an easy way to get them in arrang view other then recording a live performance. All I want to do is to be able to instert clips I have made from the project without having to record a performance.
Any hints here?

you can select a clip in Session and drag it over to the Arrange view icon in the upper right corner of the screen - This will switch to the Arrange, and then you can drop the clip into a track. Then position the cursor to the right side of the clip, and you can extend it out, just like Acid.

You can also drop a clip from the browser on the left onto the arrange window and then grab the edge and draw.

This stuff is in the manual, so a word of warning...unless you want to get yelled at for not reading the manual first, please RTFM. We're glad to help, but this stuff is basic basic. :)

Thanks for the info,
fyi I have done the tutorials and read parts of the manual, I don't remember that little handy tip. Just having a difficult time grasping the concept of Live still.
