Help with key mapping
Help with key mapping
Hi guys,
I was just setting up a Live set for Live use, and I'm using my qwerty keyboard to apply effects to the tracks, particularly beat repeat. I was wondering whether it was possible to have the keystroke apply the repeat function only for the length of time that the key is held, rather than having to press twice to turn it on an off.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Steve

Press Ctrl+K for assinging computer keyboard to Live. And automation is the answer to your Beat Repeat. U can also check page# 41to 43 or article#4.13 in the user manual

In our live setup, we have BCR2000 and when clicking in one of the knobs to activate the 'Repeat' button it is only applied whilst pressed. I think this might be because click on and click off are probably seprate messages, whereas pressing a key on a keyboard is just one message. I didn't set it up though.
Thanks for the replies people,
Fatrabbit has got the idea about what I want to do.
I want the button to turn on when I press the key, and off when I release the key, so I guess I want the button press to apply once when pressed, and again when released. Kind of like a note on then off message. My mate has managed to do this in a reaktor ensemble that he built, but I'm hoping that this can be implimented in Live.
Hope this explanation helps.
Thanks again,
Steve
