need help
tel me this
I wanna mix from ableton to cd/vinyl,
If warping is'nt perfect all things go out the window.
So whats the point unless its spot on perfect.
Is there any way you can shift the tempo without the warp on.
Warping take to long and I can never get in perfect.
Any help would be awsome

"Hello" and "please" are two of my favorite words, as a freindly suggestion, you may want to consider using them in your posts, especially if you are asking for help.
About using warp markers and mixing... there is a lot of info about it the archives. You may want to start your research there. The forums also have a Tips & Tricks section which I know has had many discussions about warp markers, and there are many other seperate discussion groups about Ableton warp markers on the web.
I learned to mix with Ableton using Warp markers by trial and error (aka practice). If you keep at it, you might not even need to ask anyone for advice.
Good Luck,
Andy

Jorya,
I can understand your frustration when you want to learn a new program... believe me, everyone on the list knows how you feel. We were all new at one time.
About people not answering...sometimes the questions are "too big". So if I tried to help you with your question, it would take me an hour to write a good reply. I'm sorry, I don't have that kind of time. But sometimes, people do write those sorts of long e-mails... that's why I suggested the archive. You may not find exactly the answer you are looking for, but you will get ideas, and then as you practice, you will figure out for yourself.
About Warp markers... have you looked at the tutorials? There is one about DJing with live that talks a little about Warp markers... maybe others ones do to.
Here's what I found with a quick search in the archives:

By nature Beat Warping will always be perfect, provided you have carried out the necesary steps (you cant just drop the track in and hope).

Very diplomatic, mylkoa. Well done for not turning this thread into a battle. That's a huge step to cutting the signal/noise ratio down around here!mylkoa wrote:Jorya,

Check out - http://www.abletonlivedj.com/forum/ for some really good (& recent) threads on this
hi
Thanks for the links they helped alot
I think i have it sussed
there is one more thing that is bugging me
Do you know how to move the tempo in fine increments (using a laptop keyboard) without typing the numbers in cos it takes to long when mixing from vinyl to ableton .
I know you can move the tempo automation in small increments using the ctl key in the arrangment window but again it takes to long.
I am looking for quick changes
I find when mixing from vinyl/cd to ableton the tempo always changes in small increments and adjustments are necessary.
I have done it before using the arrow keys but i think it was a bug
Thanks again J

Try using the tempo tap, It can take a while at first, but after some practice, you should be able to get it pretty close. Doing this method also adjusts the beats of the track in ableton with your tap.
You're certainly getting there with that post count Ball Sack. Keep the useless posts coming and you'll be up to Adonis levels in no time at all.Ball Sack wrote:Yes you do.

I'm sure one of the links above mentions this but you can set the limits (arrange page, go to properties of the master channel bottom right) of the BPM to be a lot finer. Map this to a knob on a controller and it's a lot easy to match the tempo to other things.
Then it's just a question of sorting your warping technique out which will just take a little time but trust me once you get it you'll be ok.
I have been using Live for almost a year... and I just figured out how to use the "Save" function with the audio clips from this video.JamieG wrote:
