bad analogy: superman plainly beats hulk silly. perhaps batman and daredevil (the problem may be mixing and matching DC and marvel).
(one of the problems with superman is that the extent of his power is ill-defined -- somedays, he gets hit by a plane or a car and it stuns him, other days he can move the planet, shift faults in the earth's crust, etc. -- though this is understandable b/c there's little interest in a hero who's invulnerable (leaving aside the K); regardless, i can't see how the hulk could hurt superman or otherwise avoid his powers.)

Mac's and PC's have never been more similar in terms of hardware. In fact Mac's are PC's too (via BootCamp).
The key difference is the Operating System. On this front, Mac's prevail as the winner hands down. Mac OS X is more stable, reliable and secure than windows can ever be (unless Microsoft stop adding to thier speghetti code and start from fresh).
I'm guesse what I'm trying to say is (and speaking from experience) I urge you to get a Mac, especially when you can run Windows natively - there is no reason not to. Also If you are using Pro-Tools as well I would definitely go for Mac.
Whatever way you go, happy computing.

I do 30+ tracks on Ableton/Windows XP on a regular basis and i have absolutely no issues. Dial in your system and turn of unneeded services and devices and your system will run for a long time without issues. Last time my computer crashed was 3 years ago when i lost a 3 year old hard drive. Absolutely nothing to do with the OS. So this bullshit about PC's crashing ALL THE TIME is a bunch of crap. MINE NEVER crashes, EVER. Just take care of your system and do regular maintenance, like your car, and you wont have any issues and you wont be tied down to some manufacturers parts and BS and hype.
Macs are so over hyped its becoming just silly now. Its only been a few months since they actually came half-way close to being as fast as PC's.. but, sadly they are still behind in speed and stability.
its all HYPE! Do some research, BIG TIME studios are using windows too man. You just have to search the net and get past the hype and bullshit.
I wish i could find this link where they did performance test with audio against a apple and a PC and the PC knocked its socks off with the same specs and everything. Ill have to look some more.. but its out there.. Dont get schmoozed by the rainbow.
