If some one have time please listen to my remix i did on BronskiBeat #Small Town Boy'track.
Basicly i was looking for the files and samples from this track, but found nothing.
So i took the original track, cut the bassline and some vox,i programed the drums plus the ambient sound the mello is a loop from a sample cd i don't remember from where i have it.and i did this.www.myspace.com/djvakis

Interesting take on a much-loved song - I've put a mash-up that I've done of the same song with Diana Ross's 'Aint No Mountain High Enough' up on my space - makes an interesting comparison!!

vakis - very pleasing track to listen to, very relaxing, I enjoyed that a LOT!! Good job!

Robert - cool mashup of the two songs, lots of passion in both tunes. Good call.

you two should work on a third version together ;)

Actually there are some useful tips on getting the kick drum to really punch through in this month's Computer Music magazine [UK]. As far as I recall, they suggest layering two or more samples, using a notch filter in the main mix to cut some space for the kick so it doesn't end up mushy, using compression on the individual drums and then more compression in the drums sub-mix [only a light touch at this stage]. That's from memory, but I haven't tried it myself yet. I can recommend CM magazine's tutorials - you have to actually sit down and work through them though rather than just reading them in order to get the most out of them.

Hope this helps a bit
