I'm a guitarist with absolutely no drum programming skills. I love using Live but piecing drum loops together is quite time consuming (for me at least). I've also used a product from Sonoma Wire Works called RiffWorks which has a cool drummer feature called InstantDrummer. You select the style and bar length (and tempo) and some other parameters (intensity, for example) and it generates a drum loop of the right length with an appropriate intro or fill. You generate drum loops for each "riff" (analogous to a clip/scene in Live) and then sequence them to make the song.
I've looked up/read some of the other posts about drum vsts (jamsticks, bfd, etc.) and most of them seem more complicated than InstantDrummer. Anyone out there familiar with RiffWorks know of something similar that can plug into Live?
vst drummers like RiffWorks InstantDrummer
