Try changing the extension...

delete the .txt extension..

if that doesn't work; show info for file and delete the extension in the info box..

sometimes when you delete an extension in the finder it doesn't delete the extension but actually hides it..
In that case the file is still a .txt file and live won't recognize it..

It would be amazing if the abes included a skin designer for live in the future, as long as it didn't set them back in coding a functional product of course.

Hi all! So far I haven't heard anything from Ableton about the editor. However, I have received an amazing amount of requests for its illegal release. Sorry, it isn't going to happen.

jackmazzotti - if you are on a Mac, possibly try to ctrl-click the skin link and then select Save As.

BTW, more skins are now available. Thanks for the feedback!

If this can be done I would really like if we could have a midi/key editor like this so we can have live as custom boot of your custom layouts. Or another way like how you change skins you change you layouts.

How about making some FastTracker skins? like LiTHe dark, Blues & Space Pigs! :D

So they didn't fix the file format and include the ability to customise colors
in L6? Even after all the 10+ page threads about shitty skins?

Come-on abes, that one was a no-brainer, lots more important then video support.

Thanx for the skins mattsonic! Apart from the dark ones (where the midi editor is too dark for my taste) i like the modern red one. But it has a problem with the macro knobs not displaying correctly (also drive, freq and res in Impulse etc).

dirtybomb - good idea about the FastTracker skins, even though FT is totally lame compared to IT2

djc - changing the layout would require reverse engineering the whole program and the hack would stop working every time a new version of Live comes out. Your best bet is to lobby the programmers. For the record, I'd love to see a layout editor too.

Also, more skins are now in the library.

Happy Producing!

It looks like a great app. You should release it. They aren't going to sue you and you won't go to jail. Trust me...
