how do you activate that feature that turns the cursor into the icon of a speaker so that you can click on any part of the wavfile and it plays the audio, ..... in wavlab you just clik on that speaker icon at the top of the page but i can't find it in soundforge.
help...

Hmhm, seems you dropped into the wrong forum.. But anyway, judging from my vintage SoundForge 4.5 you have to click that icon in the recorder-bar/-section with the u-turn like arrow

no thats the loop play icon, i'm talking about the icon that allows you to hear the file by clicking on the area you want to hear with the cursor

I'm not sure you can do this in Soundforge, i think you are talking about a "scrub" tool, yes? I can't seem to remember seeing one and I've used it for around four or five years now. I could be mistaken of course but if you find such a thing I'd love to know where it's hiding.
Cheers

Nope, no scrub up to v. 5.0 anyway. Unbelable omission.

well, the loop play icno does exactly this: click-marking into the waveform SoundForge immediately loop-plays the selection
