i was messing around the other day trying to figure out how to group tracks and stumbled across another way to copy/duplicate things. not sure if this was an intentional thing from ableton, or its just a good glitch.
anyway, on pc, if you hold down the control button, then click on whatever you want to copy, then drag it where you want to paste it. then its done. saves me a bunch of time when i want to copy an audio clip or midi clip.
has anyone else seen this? maybe its in the manual somewhere, but i usually only look in there if i need to know someting specific.
by the way, still havent figured out the grouping thing. guess its time to dust of the manual. hahaha
copy/paste shorcut
don't want to sound rude, but this works pretty much everywhere on Windows mate !!anyway, on pc, if you hold down the control button, then click on whatever you want to copy, then drag it where you want to paste it. then its done. saves me a bunch of time when i want to copy an audio clip or midi clip.
you'd be surprised to see what "shift" and "alt" can offer too
thx for sharing your tip anyway!
Holding Shift and pressing Delete or Insert will also cut and paste.
Control X and Control V will also work, as mentioned above (Control D is actually Duplicate, not paste).
And holding control while dragging, as mentioned above.
And yes, all of these work in most windows programs!
Don't forget F11 for fullscreen! That's a good one! Hehee.
