[OT] Question for Francophones

Well, since apparently any subject is fair game in this forum: I have a language question. There is actually a Live connection, since it concerns a piece I wrote in Live (hey, I didn't say there was a STRONG connection!)

I have a piece that I want to name "It's raining" or "It rains" but to an English speaker, it's too banal. Everyone knows even the most common thing or everyday phrase sounds better in French. So, may I ask, What is the correct phrase in French for that English phrase?

I do know enough French to say, to anyone who can help, "Merci beaucoup."

BTW, I'm Scottish but it's amazing what you pick up in the pubs after a game against the French at Murrayfield.

It's a phrase most French utter when they come to Scotland since it never stops here.

just 1 thing: in "il pleut", you don't pronounce the final t, and the "eu" sounds a bit like the i in "bird".

correct me if i'm wrong.
