Thanks for the link! There's a book that's sold at Urban Outfitters that is just photos of different DJ's bedrooms around the world. I'm in dire need of new record bins. I've outgrown my old bins > I've got overflow issues. I really like to see how other people deal with this issue. I bought a pair of 1200s a few months ago and I'm zeroing in on what mixer to buy.

What I want is a record bin cabinet that I could use as a stand for my DJ rig (2 1200's and a 4 channel mixer). I wish I could build it myself, but NYC apartments aren't suited for home-carpentry. A lot of these pix have a similar thing...

Anyone have links to where you can buy record storage cabinets? I'm a picky bastard, so I need to see a bunch of stuff before I buy.

Also, anyone have an opinion of the Denon DN-X1500 mixer?

i know of a few places in the UK but they will be no good to you in the US

roughly how many vinyls you got to store ?

im rather partial to DJ T's myself

he must have a seperate studio as well as i doubt he produces all his amazing tunes on that mac by the window, that looks like its just for cataloguing his vinyls

I use some very cheap metal shelving from a hardware store (B&Q, I'm in the UK). I just made some wooden end peices (just bits of 2x2 screwed in). I have a big bit of kitchen worksurface for my decks and have my shelves trimmed to fir under that.

I like to keep it cheap as I save my money for vinyl.

roughly how many vinyls you got to store ?

If I put them in a pile it would stand just shy of 2 meters. I need some extra room to grow.

indeed i got my vinyl storage bookcases from B&Q for at least a 3rd of the price as something almost identical from specialist DJ retailers etc

Defo the way to go if possible.

I know someone else who got a carpenter to knock up some custom shelves for his new room. Worked out really cheap for the setup he got.

+1 for the Ikea Expedit bookcases. Perfect fit for vinyl. Pretty, too. And cheap. Can't go wrong with that!

yep the ikea expedit on their side also makes a perfect 2 deck 4 channel mixer stand with room for a fair few vinyl underneath

they are the perfect height too to avoid acheing backs

I checked out the Expedit recently at Ikea. It's a good value, but it's a bit too long and too low to the ground. I have a 1 yr old nephew a few subway stops away and its likely he'll be stoping by a lot. I have to child-proof my goods. I want something similar that is 3 teirs high, and just long enough to accomodate the tables + mixer.

I'm going to make sure the kid is a killer DJ by the time he's in high school, but he can't touch the decks unless Uncle McBoob allows it

Funnily enough I was gonna say whatever you choose tether it to the wall just in case you have kids 'round.
