Q about buying Live 6...

So let me get this straight...

If I go to Musicians Friend and purchase the Live 5 box version for $299 - will I be able to download 6 for free?

When Live 6 boxed is sold at Musicians Friend, it will be $100 less than buying direct from Ableton. Just wait a bit. That's what I'm doing.

That is what I did. Purchased 5 from Zzounds, activated the license before such and such a date as dictated by Ableton, then downloaded the 6 upgrade as promised, for free. It worked out pretty good. I suppose that those large vendors will have 6 for less than the Ableton shop, though, at some point.

I went down to guitar center and picked up a live 5 box for $299 and got the upgrade to 6 for free.

Ableton said if you activate it up until october 31st you'd get a free upgrade so I'd bet if you got it from musicians friend it would work.

BTW I originally ordered live 5 from samash.com and they said it was "on order" for like 2 weeks so I cancelled the order and went down to GC. Does musicians friend have them in stock still?

Yeah... They say they have the box version in stock...

Can I get somebody else to tell me that I have until 10/31 to get my free upgrade?

Haven't seen Alex around the forum much lately.... Probably still at the week-long release party.

2006 get a downloadable upgrade at no charge-or they can purchase a
boxed version of Live 6 including the Essential Instrument Collection
for EUR 99/USD 119. To get your free serial number, go to
http://www.ableton.com/upgrade.
