Is there a way of mapping CC messages (generated inside ableton) to Macro controls?
I would to setup a liveset where i have 128 banks of instruments racks (each holding 8instruments) in each track. CC messages coming from my controller would be routed to a dummie track, whch would then pass it onto a track i would choose.
Internal MIDI to Macro mapping??

how?
baring in mind that in the lifeset i will be using two (and the dummie t.) tracks; one for part A and the other for part B.
have to somehow route the data to the part (track) i want, since they need to be able to house the same 128*8instruments setup at the same time to prevent any restriction in what instrument combinations i will be playing.
Also, i need to somehow achieve a standartised controlling mapping within the racks, so the setup i create can be loaded in part A and part B without any adjustments. this so that i wont have to have two versions of each 128*8intruments setup, which would be very complicated to make any future adjustments in.
I am using my sequencer with CC modulation plus a controller hat will be required for live CC modulation, etc. The sequencer will plug in a as vst. i will draw a flow chart, since i doubt from these words it is any clearer.

well from your first post, i thought i understood. but after your second... i have no idea, sorry! maybe you could explain a little more?
what do you want to control? and with what?
for example, do you mean...
- midi out: from Ableton live
- midi in: external gear
?
just trying to be helpful....

Yes, if you use IAC on the Mac (built in) or midi-yoke for windows (http://www.midiox.com/index.htm?http:// ... /myoke.htm)onarb wrote:Is there a way of mapping CC messages (generated inside ableton) to Macro controls?
You can then set the midi track to output to a loopback output and use the input as a control input for Live.
Then Midi assign the CC messages to the macro.
