better cpu performance idea

Post by onarb » Sun Oct 01, 2006 2:17 am

Hi,

first of all, i just got the demo of v6 and it does it all i was hoping for. its a killer app now!!!

with the chain splits, its very easy to design a complex liveset and move between your stuff flawlessly with ease. great idea. however, (and its a small one, promiss:),

1)i wonder why deactivated racks/chains/instruments are receiving midi/keyboard conmtrol. it is not necessary, i belive, and as i tested on piv2.4, 128 sliders assigned to a single keyboard key take about 1.5percent of cpu even when that instrument is inactive.

2) why dont inactive chains equal deactivated chains (in terms of cpuconsumption)

don't you think controlling 128 deactivated parameters at once is a bit unrealistic?
and it's only 1.5%.. negligible if you ask me..
