is Belgium a vacation destination?

Sorry to get off the subject of The White German Studios of BIG RECORD PRODUCERS outfitted by Martha STEWART and IKEA but...

such is the way of the tide
I hear Brugge is nice

You don't come here for the weather...
A lot of historical buildings in Brugge. Lots of history (ie tourist trips).
The Ardennes are nice when it snowed.
A buttload of worldwar I & II museums...
if i may, as i just got back from a month long belgian holiday...

belgium is a really cool place to visit. the food is incredible (fries, chocolate and cheese, carbonade, pitas, i could go on and on and on). and there's also the beer...we had a 12 pack of leffe as checked luggage. only one broke on the journey home to alaska.
the proximity to other european countries is also pretty cool. e.g. spent the day in paris, took the high speed train back to ghent and caught carl cox, green velvet, marco baily, thomas hades, redhead, marco baily later that night.
great record stores, my favorite being dr. vinyl in brussels.
hoffman says you don't come for the weather however in the 2 months i've spent in belgium over the past two years, i've seen no more than one week of rain total. i guess i'm just lucky.

cheers,
drew

I haven't been out much lately

July was pretty tropical hot though...
The food, the beer,....
I thought that went without saying.

The record stores are great. But German import usually works better. Though in belgium you'll pay less shipping

And we get almost all the artists around here. Europe aint that big, the borders don't mean much.
You can get from here to there in no time.
There's one little border that is fun to cross. I live next to it :D

I did my research on Belgium

it's about the size of Maryland - which means it's really really really small - population of 10K people

more cell phone users than land line users

and it's a hub for XTC and money laundering

I'm fucking going

I didn't realize they were still together. Does the hub prevent stage fright because I would love to see them live. Check it out yo!

lol, yep its a seriously trippy granny room that all right! my grans is similar but they've chilled down the wallpaper now thankfully and modernised to a plasma screen, though the fireplace and carpet remain firmly in place! old meets new.

the dj.... why Dj GrannY Ross of course! coming at ya!

just kiddin, just some random pic I found on the net ;-)

so how did you manage to escape glasgow?

Did you notice how the number of records on shelves is inversely proportional to the fame of the DJ?

Those flats look nice, but they must be expensive, wonder how much they cost to rent per month?
