How can I get AVI or MPEG usable in Live 6?

How can I get AVI or MPEG usable in Live 6?

I tried to use some AVI or MPEG files in Live 6 but there is nothing to see except MOV extension in Live's browser...

Need I convert all AVI and MPEG to MOV before? Is there any good converter for free?
