Higher CPU allocation on LIve 6

Post by macdeath » Thu Oct 05, 2006 6:17 pm

I want to know if someone had this problem...

I opened a "heavy" set (with Reason at rewire) both on Live 5 and 6 and @ the 6th version the cpu was 10% higher.

Below is the hardware I use:

P4 @ 2.8GHz
800 MHz FSB
1.5G RAM
HD @ 7200 rpm
MacPro 2.6GHz/4G ram-Motu Traveler-M_Audio Axiom25-Korg MS200R-Roland JP 8080

With this test you can have an idea how your computer perform.
Don't know why your cpu going 10% higher. Are your settings the same?
The only thing i know is Live 6 works perfect on dual procesors and on core duo.

Hi,

how do the cpu loads compare when you use a copy of your set, but without the Reason input tracks? Which kind of audio interface / driver do you use?

Regards,
Andreas

Dear
Andreas

First thanks for your interest... In both sets the rewire channels are active (all-input monitor mode @ rewire tracks)

the interface I use is M-Audio Audiophile 24/96

hi macdeath,

had you selected the same driver model in Live 5 and 6 (ASIO<->DirectX), the same buffersize and samplerate when you made your test?

with which driver model, buffersize and samplerate have you made the test?

what version of reason and live 5 have you tested?

best wishes,
matthias
