Why is my Trigger Finger???
Why is my Trigger Finger???
Showing up as an "USB AUDIO DEVICE" not "TRIGGER FINGER".
It's unworking now..I have reinstalled the drivers 2 times...rebooted a bunch...
no love.
Initially when I plug it in it shows up as Trigger Finger but with a exclamation mark...and about a second later after refreshing the device manager shows up as "USB AUDIO DEVICE"
Enigma doesn't see it either.
I'm sad.
anyone got an idea?

well..
After about 4 driver reinstalls and 15 rebootations it seems to work again as a "Trigger Finger". Whatta stupid thing though, still only %50 of the time and it's not like I have been changing any settings along the way.
I just did the SAME thing.
I think they need a driver update or something.
Also another crazy thing is that it seems to only work on ONE USB port, my laptop has 4 in total....only works in one of them.
Would using a regular MIDI cable as opposed to the whole MIDI over USB thing guarantee me some more stability?? Anyone know??
Thank You

Are you using 2 M-Audio devices?
I had the same issue. I called M-Audio and the tech told me that this is known issue when you are using at least 2 M-Audio devices (for instance, I have Trigger Finger, Oxygen8, and Fast-Track USB)...there is a conflict in Device Manager.
It does NOT affect the performance of the Trigger Finger or the Oxygen8 though.
When in doubt, call them!

Yes I do. I have the firewire audiophile instaled. That sucker has never gave me any grief and the new drivers have been rock solid.ChillyP wrote:Are you using 2 M-Audio devices?

I have a similar issue with my trigger finger...kit only works with one port. On a laptop. I've had odd thigns before with USB & laptops, and ultimately think it's a power issue on the laptop's USB ports. When I use a good POWERED USB2.0 hub, it works flawlessly. As does my Clavia G2, which also suffers intermittent USB problems, also except when on my powered USB hub.
So, try getting a hub that comes with a power supply.

Aghh...just another thing to carry around in my arsenal. Thank you for your help though, I will try that tommorow.jksuperstar wrote:I have a similar issue with my trigger finger...kit only works with one port. On a laptop. It would be cool if you could power the thing with a 12V battery for problems like these.

M-Audio recently released a new driver for all thier MIDI controllers that support Enigma (of which the TF is one). I'd highly recommend installing that new driver.
