ableton live 6.01:
1) Ableton Live CPU Meter % - 11%
2) Laptop/Desktop? Make/Model - Apple Mac Pro 2.66
3) Operating System - OS X 10.4.8
4) CPU Make Model and Speed - Quad Core Xeon 2.66GHz
5) Amount of Ram / Speed of Ram (if you know) - 1 GB (2x512)
6) Soundcard (Stock or add on?, usb/firewire/pci ?) - Motu 828mk2
7) Hard Disk Drive Speed (if you know) - WD 250gb 7200rpm SATA2
not bad at all, but i think we need a new live6 test, multicore specific,
the 4 cores of my macpro begin to work after i load at least 40-50%.
With 10-11% of load seems there's no big difference between a dualcore and a quadcore.
1) Ableton Live CPU Meter % - 11%

3) Operating System - Windows XP SP2
4) CPU Make Model and Speed - AMD Athlon64 X2 handpicked cpu with overclock.
5) Amount of Ram / Speed of Ram (if you know) - 2GB (4 x 512)
6) Soundcard (Stock or add on?, usb/firewire/pci ?) - Motu 828mk2 + 8io ADAT
7) Hard Disk Drive Speed (if you know) - WD Raptor 150GB 10.000 rpm
It seems that the Core 2 Duo definatly seems to beat the Athlon64 here when i see it score 11% at almost the same clockspeed, impressive. Might just be my next cpu upgrade if AMD doesn't come up with an affordable answer.

Live 6.01 Demo:
gaming rig
A small improvement over live 5 (1-2%)
1) 19-22%
2) Custom-built PC with DFI NF4 Lanparty SLI-DR motherboard
3) Windows XP SP2
4) Athlon 64 3700+ overclocked to 2.77 GHz (single core)
5) 2GB OCZ Platinum EL, Dual Channel PC3200, clocked at DDR425
6) Creative X-Fi (using Creative ASIO drivers with buffer of 10ms/440 samples - next option up is 20ms which gives me 19-21% CPU)
7) Western Digital Caviar RE, 7200RPM SATA
laptop 1
ASIO4ALL drivers make a nice difference here (5-6%).
1) 30-34%
2) Packard Bell Easynote
3) Windows XP SP2
4) Celeron M 370 overclocked to 1.65 GHz (single core)
5) 1GB PC2700
6) SoundMax Integrated (using ASIO4ALL v2 drivers with buffer of 512 samples)
7) Seagate 5400RPM IDE
laptop 2
Vista is obviously not very optimised for audio work yet. It gets about 39% under XP.
1) 43-46%
2) Toshiba Satellite
3) Windows Vista RC1 (Build 5600)
4) 2.66 GHz Pentium 4
5) 512MB PC2100
6) SoundMax Integrated (using default Vista drivers - had to set buffer to 1040 samples for glitch-free playback)

I bought Live6 upgrade (I used before the Live 5.2.2. Here are the results and on top of that you can compare between live 5 and live 6 on an IMAC !!
1) Ableton Live CPU Meter % (if it bounces around, please list the peak)
15%
2) Laptop/Desktop? Make/Model
Imac Core duo 2 , 2GHZ
3) Operating System
Mac OS X
4) CPU Make Model and Speed
