jesus; peepz,
I had a hard time finding it also; but really, when you get used to right click on the small represenatation on the sample in the right below corner and click manage files; I find the whoile handling of samples that appears then pretty usefull and just as easy as the button in live 5
you just have to do it three times to get used to, that's all

There didn't seem to be a strong reason to remove the button and make the function more obscure. In terms of programming 'edit sample' can simply trigger the same actions as using manage/edit (IE take the sample offline, open the 3rd party editor). In terms of saving space ... nothing has replaced it - there is just a wee hole.

I still think that it should be brought back unless they have some plans for that space.

Personally I think that the sample rate and bit depth info could be handled better and give a whole new row for functions. (EG: put the sample rate info in a 'show info' button)

All you have to do is right click on the waveform, choose "manage sample file" from the menu and bingo, there's your edit button all highlighted and ready in the list on the right.

So it's really only one exra mouse click.

Whay has this been taken away? I don't mind having another way to get to editing, but not at the expense of the existing and logical one.

It used to be so strightforward!!!

Now it is awkward, and nothing has risen to take the scree real estate away, it's just a blank area? Who's bright idea was that?!

We need to bombard Abs with email requests to get it back. I've emailed them - if we all do it, it may make some difference
