How the hell do you edit a file in an external editor in L6

EDIT:
I'd missed that shortcut and went through the file menu which necessitates more clicks. it's obviously easier through the lo right corner/right click but still you need 5 clicks and move around your screen for something that required ONE click

We're not saying this new window is not useful. I don't need/want it when just editing a selected file

wtf? why do that. was it taking up to much space? it is a tiny button, at least put it somewhere, we would even be happy with a samller button abes but bring back the button +1
