Annoying lag when zoomed on long clips...

I'm using Live to master a long mix i recorded in Live, about 83 minutes. When i zoom in to a certain point everything slows down...the zoom, playhead, anything i try to do is sloooow. When i zoom in deeper, however, the problem mostly clears up. It sucks though to lose useful levels of zoom. It's just too annoying and difficult to work precisely when every move has a 1 second lag.
i wonder if this problem would clear up if a doubled my RAM to 1GB and loaded the clip into RAM...

same here on xp pro pc, 2.4 P4 with 1 gig RAM, RME multiface, and audio on external fw hardrives at 7,200 RPM. I think it a waveform re-draw issue when files get this long, and I have similar experiences to you. I haven't dealt with it in awhile thought, maybe with Live 3 and loading the samples into RAM (I haven't tried this) might take care of it?
