Yeah I get this as well.
I absolutely love the combination of SX and Live but this is a serious issue.

It sure is a rendering issue with Live
It just happens when using Live as rewire slave. Run the Live session (samples & session) from RAM disk if you can. That should help. Or if you have the 3.x version, just load all the samples to RAM. That should do it, have not tested though.
Even with the RAM disk I still got some dropouts with some more complex sessions (when using Live as a rewire slave). This looks very much like a bug to me. I have posted Ableton a very detailed report of this asking when they think this is going to be solved. I got no answer but need to know this before upgrading. Just want to know if the software is really working the way it should before upgrading to 3.x, 4.x or 5.x... So no luck so far I guess...
Damn I hate to work with broken things. Otherwise a lovely software, do not get me wrong.

Hi all,
let me say some words on these issue. In general audio processing can be separated into real-time (like playback) or not real-time (like rendering) tasks.
So when Live runs as ReWire slave to a ReWire master and the audio processing is done in real-time everything should work.
But when using something like audio rendering in the ReWire Master these audio drop-outs can happen. Unfortunately the ReWire protocol cannot transmit this kind of information. Maybe we'll have a button to switch between Real-time and "Non real-time" in a future version of Live to handle this. But so far you can only try some workarounds:
- Set the clips in Live to "RAM" (will not help if the OS is already swapping)
or
- Use "Render To Disk" within Live and import the resulting audio file in your ReWire master application

Alex
