Post by macca » Sun Oct 08, 2006 1:11 pm

Anybody know of any good plugins that can be used instead of eq3/4?

Can this cut deep enough?

I may have asked this q before (if so apologies) but that's why I like EQ3.

(I don't have L6 yet, and didn't get to play with the beta much).

I can't get this method to do a complete freq kill.... Even scaled up to 200% and two EQ8s.

Any other methods? I've tried all the free EQ plugins on KVR and none of them are really DJ oriented.

Try setting eq node 1,2,3,4 all at around the same place between 150-200 Hz, and set them all at hi-pass.

Then, sett eq node 5,6,7,8 all at around the same place between 2000-4000 Hz, and set them all to lo-pass.

Then, map one key to 1,2,3,4 and another to 5,6,7,8.

Perhaps that would work?

And if not, you could then place a few of these in a row, and map all the 1,2,3,4s to the same key, and all the 5,6,7,8s to one key.

And if that doesn't work, well.......

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? You can't get the EQ8 highpass and lowpass to completely cut the frequencies past the cutoff point? It works fine over here.

What I like to do is have 7(!) lowpass filters, and then a notch to reduce the LPF boost at the cutoff frequency. Yum. And then after that in the chain the 7 hpf variation. Cuts well enough for me :)

So you're just trying to get a steeper cutoff curve? What is the benefit of that?
