new guy saying hello

Hey,

I've been lurking here for quite a while, been using live for couple of months now, just updated to live 6 and it feels really great. I am testing lemur with it right now and sorta blows my mind. Thanks for a good forum!

Hi Onehandstand!

Welcome to the forums.

I just got a Lemur as well. Cool, huh? I'm using MidiYoke for the midi integration with Live, but I'm getting feedback loops. Once I start moving a fader (for example) it continous to move even after I've taken my hands of the Lemur. midi0 in Jazzeditor is set to MidiYoke 1 for both in and out.

Do you know if there's any other way to do it?

yea thanks, sometimes its hard to comprehend the technology we're playing with

yes I had the saem problem. in jazzeditors midi setting put midiyoke 1 for input, midiyoke 2 for output and midiyoke 3 for another output. in live settings 1 and 2 is for mackie control in and out, midiyoke 3 is a midi port, click track and remote on. after that it should be in ya fingertipz.

i heard that if you have long nails your lemur playing gets more accurate...

yes selling monomachine was a rather hard decision. i am planning to take a year of from my work starting next summer to concentrate even more on my music and photography and now there is a need to optimize my rig incase i need to travel. lemur, mbp and live seem pretty awesome combination and there was always that little glitch between software and hardware for me. I used logic, repeater and bunch of electrix filters before acquiring monomachine. over an year ago buying mnm seemed like an answer to my prayers and it took me to new directions musically, but now i am drawn back to software and have less time/concentration/patience to play with mnm. I think electron products are great if you dont use software and thats the part im gonna miss. the best thing about live for me is its like a repeater in a sense, if you have ideas you can lay them down really quick and you dont need to record and sync gear etc. lemur feels like a great extension to that, even two page demo interface for live seems amazing, but now i need to learn jazzmutant and build that ULTIMATE interface! I need to control the pitch of my farts... will let you know when its done.

You shouldn't use the same MIDI Yoke port number for both in and out on the same target.
MIDI Yoke In 1 and internally wired to MIDI Yoke Out 1, so anything you'll be sending from an object with instantly come back.
As onehandstand said, you should use different port numbers for input and output.

Yeah. But when using ordinary midi mapping in Live - how can I get it to send feedback to the Lemur? Or can I use Mackie mode to do my own mappings?
