audio engine off in 2.1 bundle

hi there, just got MBox protools/live bundle.
Live thinks my audio engine is OFF. it is the built-in audio controller from my iBook G3 800mhz (i know it's gettin kinda old in here)
my audio engine is on...works with reason and peak and itunes and everything else to make sound come out of my speakers. Or is my audio engine now the MBox? i dunno.
Any Ideas how to make it acknowledge this fact?
Can't even select it in the Pref>Audio tab...it says 'none'

Hi proxyboy,

the Live version that comes with your MBox/ ProTools Bundle is 'Live Digidesign Edition'. This special version of Live can only access Digidesign hardware using Direct I/O. When you have installed ProTools this should be normally no Problem. Can you access the MBox in ProTools?

You might have to make the options.txt thing.
It's in the FAQ.
Direct I/O is the best for Mbox imho.
Coreaudio causes too many hiccups.

Maybe this is obvious, but I am new to Pro Tools and Live - I had the same problem on first run of Live today but do you have pro tools running with a new session and track open? I inserted Live into a new aux input track as multi channel plug in and turned up the fader. Voila.
