m-audio axiom vs korg microkontrol vs ????

Post by cannone » Fri Oct 13, 2006 3:47 pm

OK.

I really want a "all in one" controller/keyboard for Ableton. I'm really torn on what to get, and cost isn't too much of an issue (it's always SOMEWHAT of an issue). I've been looking at the axiom, and thought I was sure that was the way to go until some negative posts on this site have turned me off some. I just really like the fact that it's kinda endorsed by live.....with the tutorial and all....

What do you guys think the way to go is?

Anyone?

Thanks,

cannon

I've had my Axiom 49 for a week now and I'm very happy with it. The keys feel great, general quality seems good. It's not a real control surface, e.g. the faders will always cause some grief as they're not motorised. Minor niggles, though.

Haven't tried the other one and obviously I can't comment on the long term build quality.

How about the Novation Remote series?

Post by cannone » Fri Oct 13, 2006 4:51 pm

Anyone know if the Novation Remote series automap has compatability for the new verson of Live 6.0?

Looks like a sweet control surface.

Thanks,

Cannon

I would mos def choose the Axiom over the Korg. I find the Axiom to be everything I need too make music. Instead of having a couple controllers that work good, the Axiom 49 is one controller that rocks my socks, and with the new automapped templates in 6, its really cool. The 8 knobs are really great automapped when just mixing a track and doing all the tweeks, but for performance more knobs would be sexy to assign, so Im thinking of adding a Zero SL to my set up for Live purposes, a remote 61sl is jus a lil too expensive for my taste.

yes, and there is a growing user community for Axiom:
