Here's one with an available demo (pc only?) that has not been mentioned here.
I've played with it breifly.
it has kind of a crazy interface and this app. really taxed my vid card.
But it does seem cool and different with a unique approach.
I may buy it when I get a second laptop.
It has its own sequencer and will respond to midi too..
... for now I own Arkaos and am happy with it- but I wanted something very simple for now- and I can run it with Live6 on the same machine.

CrisJ beside the fact that you did find vjo the interface crap, wich i love
beside the fact that evrybody has his own credo, you aren't forced to apply, and you are talking as a racist

vjo has features!

i prefer a not hyper cool interface that doesn't limit me then a cool interface but very limited in terms of possibilities & features

Anyway the vjo's developer has changed since a while if you haven't noticed yet, the old dev. now works at greenhippo, the company that setups some of the biggest light/video shows in the world..

The modular approach to Vjo was fantastic at first but the narrow mind of its "creator" just killed it by guess what.... not evolving.
I won't go into details as I wasted to much time on it in the past.
I haven't been near Vjo for a while, I keep away from sects

About greenhippo being the best in the world, it'd better be true as he's been boasting about it for so long. He's pretentious, arrogant, doesn't have a sense of humour, sees the world in fascistic way : that goes in the uncool section in my book.

Still the question is raised:
Can you still support a software when you know the maker is a twat ?
Can you listen to an artist's music with the same pleasure once you've found out some disappointing infos about him.
I can't.

Never heard a bad thing about Arkaos, so you can put it in the cool section

com'oooooon Arkaos is nice but it's just a kinda limited video sampler with the usual effects and no generative stuff , ok hw accellerated now

Been using Arkaos ReWired to Live 1-2 times a week all summer, 4-5 hours a shot.

It's been rock-solid.

well yeah that's my point, I would if they were evangelists.
But if the abes were hardcore mormons they wouldn't have created Live, think!
First I read hardcore morons

, and if they were hardcore morons Live 6 would be Live 1 with a different color, and no one would have bought it so it wouldn't have gone as far as live 6

If they had the mentality of Vjo's "creator" they would have stopped Live on version 3 because they wouldn't have liked people to request for new features all the time and would have found a way to make loads of money and let down all people who had invested their time and money in the software.
They would claim everywhere that their software is the best and that Robert Henke is making the best music in the world and that all Robert has ever heard from people using Live didn't come close to his own talent.
Robert would have an image representing him as Jesus holding a copy of live, with light coming out of it, but not in a humourous way.
I was really involved with Vjo, and the bullshit this guy was coming up with was amazing.
And then one day went on his personal page as he was keen to people visiting it, and there was this "20 proofs that evolution never happened and Darwin is a moron " kind of thing. Don't know if it's still there, went there only once.

Religious beliefs are OK as long as they're just that. If you don't know what Evangelists are up to, well that's your problem, and there's enough infos about it everywhere without me giving more.

Again Vjo stopped evolving because the brain of the guy was de-evolving and was against evolution - in his life and that transpired logically in his work- and then he stopped development.

The VJ programs still on the market constantly eveolve, so stay away from this one is my advice if you don't have time to waste.

You sound like one of those plastic revolutionnaries. You have those easy targets without really questionning why. Apple is cool, Windows sucks.

PS I also personnally know people working at Microsoft from day one, they're nice people.
