ableton 4.0.1 vst issues

hi im currently using ableton 4.0.1 and after fiddling with the settings i accidently set my vst folder to C drive which is my hard disk. when i try to load the program it just comes up with error messages because it encounters problems with some of the files in my hard disk. I cant actually go into the program to change the settings cause it crashes before it loads the interface. any way to change this?

Hello,

You have to reset your Preferences. To do so, delete the preferences,cfg file that should be located here:

# Windows (Live 4 and later versions): C:/Documents and Settings/your user name/Application Data/Ableton/Live/Preferences
# Mac OS X: /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton

You'll have to set yout Preferences again, but that will allow to start Live.

Hi im currently using ableton 4.0.1

Why is that then? What reason could you possibly have for not running at least the up to date version of Live 4 I wonder.....
