hi in new to this software and i was wondering if anyone could direct me to some free vst plugins for ableton and how to use them

http://www.kvraudio.com/ get a lot of free VSTi and FX here. Some good, some bad and some are just truly awaful.

I never say this normally, but on this occasion i would suggest you read the manual.

I don't know what version of live your using. Look for the PDF Manual in the hrlp menu if your on a PC.
