mpc and live difficulty
i seem to be able to only render in the session view if the clip is either playing or looping, it stops the audio, i render, and then i hear a tick or jump in meter and then i know it rendered. i i do not have the audio playing live renders the set amount and it is silent. also i cant drag from session into arrangement to render? if i do that the clip is shaded in the arrangement. why is that? if its shaded it doesnt play its just silent.i also have an mpc and i am trying to render to wav to bring into mpc. i know the mpc specs for compatibility and i am rendering at 44.1 and 16bit and its still telling me wrong file. what else do i need to fix in the render window so i can bring it to the mpc because i know it is adding something so my mpc cant recognize it. please help!!

the goings on Albert?
your post is a bit confusing but try this.
restart Live
select an audio file from the browser
drag that file to the arranger view mode
make sure the track the file is on is not muted, make sure the master out is not muted also, make sure you can hear the file by playing it.
click on that file so that it is highlighted
go to the menu and select render
make sure you don't save any data besides the audio, in other words no meta data or anything.
start the render and make sure you take note of where your file is being stored.
close Live and go to where the rendered file is stored and play it with itunes or whatever.
if the file plays ok then the issue is with your mpc and not Live, if it does not play correctly then the issue is Live

how would i save any data? wut specifically is that and "meta"? but thank u very much for the advice i will try it. and yes my file saves to my desktop and i open quiktime to preview it and it works. but if i render from session and the clip is NOT EITHER PLAYING OR LOOPING live renders the set amount of time however its silent i have to have the clip playing in session and then after the render completes i hear a little tick or jump in the master volume in the mixer. i will try wut u said as far as arrange and getting it from the browser. i have been just clicking in session and tabing over to arrangement and dropping it there from session. its shaded when i play it. is that why? cuz i brought it from session?

just press the red button next to paly/stop/recordalbert wrote:if its shaded it doesnt play its just silent.
I had the same both on the mpc2000xl and the 1000, I found resampling as workaround because I couldn't be bothered to look after a solution deeply. Just resample instead of rendering.albert wrote:i also have an mpc and i am trying to render to wav to bring into mpc. i know the mpc specs for compatibility and i am rendering at 44.1 and 16bit and its still telling me wrong file. what else do i need to fix in the render window so i can bring it to the mpc because i know it is adding something so my mpc cant recognize it. please help!!
Rendered files are not seen as normal .wav by the mpc.
I resample, give a new name and consolidate, save set self contained, open the folder of the set's samples and drag it in the mpc and ready to rock.
u fixed my shaded part question!!! thank u. can u explain the resampling steps u'd take. i am pretty new. like just open the rendered file in audacity or sum other one or resample in ableton to a new track? please just explain a bit more. sorry still a rookie. but i wanted to add effects to my sample like some compression and reverb and sum eq, if i consolidate i would b doing the resampling pre effects chain. in order to get post effects i would have to render if i am not mistaken. all i want is to sample into ableton and add effects and then bounce the new sample into the mpc but i am having alot of diff with this seems to b easy task. also as far as rendering why can i only render if the clip is actually playing.if i render without it playing it renders the aloted time correctly but it is silent i can only do a successful bounce if its in the act of playing and i hear audio. i got the audio into the mpc now and it still says wrong file after the consolidation. the clip actually loaded in but it sounds kinda phasey and a little weird plus this time the wrong file box was a bit pixilated and weird looking. i am using os 3.6 for my mpc.
In order to resample retaining all the fx settings, I create a new audio track, choose „resample“ as audio input, switch monitor to off,arm recording and I create a new clip.
Let’s say you have 8 tracks in your live set and you only want to resample track 2, just put track 2 in solo and record straight away in the resampling track.
As far as rendering I can’t help you because I always resample, so I don’t know about rendering when live is not playing.
Hope this helps!

the problem seems to be rendering from session.
i just tried what you said you did in session and my mpc wouldnt recognize it either, says wrong file.
what i normally do is to record the clip in arrangement and then render it there. since alot of effects have a tail on it thats how i've always done it.
and i've never had a problem with it not recognizing anything until i tried rendering from session just now.
hope that helps.
