incorrect values!!!

Post by hoffman2k » Wed Oct 18, 2006 10:35 am

I love how Live lets you fine tune almost everything. But it sucks that you cant see what you are doing.

A few examples:

The oscillator level parameters on the operator...
I can get 3 different sounds when it's on a specified value when moved by mouse.

To reproduce this:

- load up a default operator

- Move the level of OSC B up to -20dB

- Play some notes while you are moving the OSC B level with the mouse

If you're very careful, You'll notice 3 (or more) different modulation signals between -20dB and -19dB.

Then there's the simpler...
It's "almost" impossible to loop everything in it. Which goes against everything i've learned about sampling. Everything is loop-able...

When you work with complex waveforms, you'll notice that it can take you 4 hours or more to find that "sweet spot" in a sample.
And when you eventually get it right, it's probably because you make your sample a nanosecond smaller.

This is unacceptable!!!

If the problem is about not having enough space to display the full lenght of the parameter, there's a simple solution for that.

Show the values of the selected parameter in a section of the Live interface. The bottom bar for example.
